Program Description

An innovative online CME activity for all physicians interested in the medical uses of cannabinoids. This interactive, free and accredited program includes online presentations and a forum about understanding the therapeutic uses of cannabinoids in pain and symptom management, followed by; medical marijuana: an evidence-based guide for medical practitioners.

Accreditation

Program Description

The 2010 accredited program begins with a concise review of cannabinoids and their use in Canada. It then explores some potential scenarios for their application in practice through three case-based studies.

• Outline the evidence of safety and efficacy of therapeutic cannabinoids in a range of conditions
• Identify appropriate patients for trials of cannabinoids
• Initiate and monitor cannabinoids
• Identify and evaluate issues in considering cannabinoids in clinical practice

Program Description

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

• Compare the pharmacology and review the synergism between cannabinoids and opioids
• Initiate, titrate and monitor, including for adverse events, cannabinoids following appropriate patient screening and selection
